My son started playing at 60-90 this spring in leagues that require BBCOR bats. The bat rule is a real problem for him because he was still 12 when the league play started and weighed about 95 pounds. He hit a 30 inch 20 oz bat in the fall before, so moving up to the much heavier bat was a real problem for him. My husband found out that most of the BBCOR bats were 31 inch 28 oz bats, which is a huge jump up in weight for the kids who are not yet very big. He and my son finally found this bat which was 27 ounces, and much easier than the 31-28s for him to swing. It took a lot of cage time and about half of the season for my son to get used to the weight of the bat, but once the light went on, he really started hitting well with it. The bat makes a really cool sound when you hit one on the numbers, and it has decent pop for a BBCOR. My son has been able to hit some over the outfielders' heads and punch liners into the gaps for doubles, so I think that the performance is very comparable to much more expensive bats. Being a 13 year old, my son likes to try other kids' bats, and has started hitting with some 31-28s. However, he usually does best when he goes back to his old reliable Rawlings 5150. If your son is not big and strong enough to heft a BBCOR, this bat is a home run.The bat was great however only after about a month of use the bat developed a curve in it. This is the first time we have ever had a bat do this. We are sending it back to see if the warranty covers this but in the mean time we had to purchase another one because we don't have time to wait on the replacement.Bat seems to have good pop and feels light for my son. My only concern is while taking off the shrink wrap off the grip, the grip "peeled" a little too. See pic. Not sure if this is normal.Amazing bat for the the price. The balance and weight placement is perfect. My son has used it for 3 weeks now hitting multiple shots in the air around 270+ ft being a 12 yr old. He loves it.My son loves this bat it is perfect for him. Balanced bat.My son has been extremely pleased with this bat.... Tons of pop!!!!This bat hits very well but it is LOUD. If you are hitting indoors, everyone will know what bat you are using... and want one.Son loves it. Perfect fit for my 230 lb 17 yes.
