I will start by saying that this is mainly a comparison between this bag and the competition... because long was my debate between the Thule bag and this one. The Thule has a lot more reviews even though it is more expensive and has 15 liters less space, which was a complaint in one of the YouTube reviews that I was able to find (granted I have no idea how many liters I need, so the number was irrelevant to me). I decided to go for this once, considering I have other Dakine products and they have proven to me to have good quality and great functionality.I will start by saying that size matters. 15 liters might be negligible to the untrained eye, but even at 70 liters this bag is not exactly huge. I'm sure that less space could be a problem depending on how much one intends to load on the bag. Surprisingly, the changing mat is a very nice feature that I've actually used. I recently made a trip to Ligure, Italy, and I was able to fit my helmet (I could've put a full face if I wanted with no problem), my protective gear in the top compartment, all my tools in the side bag (Essentially all the tools that are not at home, but that I'm also not bringing with me on the ride like, shock pump, chain lube, torque wrench, spare parts, and assorted wrenches), three changes of MB clothes, and biking shoes obviously.I could've fit more if I wanted, but I mainly just wanted to see how well I can pack the things that leave my house but stay in the car... any extra space is for maybe clothes or my backpack. It worked great! Ideal for a weekend trip, or to put it inside my bike bag when I fly somewhere. Dakine didn't disappoint with built quality, and they seem to not overcomplicate their products, like Thule's dividers.
