Helko Werk is widely recognized as a producer of premium world-class handmade axes. It is one of the oldest axe manufacturers still operating in Europe. The story of Helko Werk began in the village of Cronenberg, Germany, now part of the city of Wuppertal. It was there, in 1844, that August Helsper founded the August Helsper Werkzeugfabrik (the Helsper Tool Factory) and began producing axes for the region. The Helsper Tool Factory increased its export of axes beyond the borders of Europe during the early twentieth century, and by the 1930s was regularly shipping axes to countries in Africa, Asia, and South America. It was also around this time that the Helsper family formed a partnership with the Kotthaus family, setting the stage for exponential growth and giving the company its current name: Helko (an amalgam of Hel sper and Ko tthaus). A heavy beeswax finish has been applied and allowed time to soak through the canvas, making the bag highly durable and water repellent. These are ideal travel bags and tool bags for construction work and toting heavy tools.

Heavy Duty and Durable - The large canvas tool bag's leather bottom, handles, straps, and shoulder sling are all made from soft, 6 oz. full grain cowhide, and will quickly develop a handsome saddle tan patina. The masons tool bag has hard floor plate gives the bag shape, and six nickel plated foot studs protect the bottom from wear.

100% Waterproof Cotton Canvas Mason Tool Bag - The spacious 16" opening is constructed with a strong, lightweight aluminum frame.
